Cocoa Butter: Cocoa butter is a natural, vegetable fat extracted from the cocoa seeds. Cocoa butter is rich in antioxidants, which help repair damage to the skin caused by free radicals. The natural antioxidants also give cocoa butter a long shelf life, making it ideal for your DIY products. The smooth texture and emollient property of cocoa butter make it suitable for skin care products.

Mango Butter:Mango Butter is a soft butter, obtained from the mango kernels. It has excellent emollient properties combined with good oxidative stability, which makes it highly suitable for DIY skin care products. Mango butter´s long-lasting emollience nourishes the skin and boosts its elasticity as well as its suppleness, thereby making your skin look smoother and firmer.

Arrowroot Powder: Arrowroot powder is starch extracted from the root of tropical plants. This silky powder aids in the rapid absorption of the carrier oil, so your skin feels smooth and silky.

Hints

When making DIY body butters, it is a good idea to use a fast-absorbing carrier oil, in order to get a non-greasy body butter. Safflower oil is considered a fast-absorbing oil.

Another tip to making a less greasy body butter is to add a natural ingredient that absorbs excess oil, such as arrowroot powder or corn starch.
