Shea Cleansing Oil

This Shea Cleansing Oil contains only three ingredients – shea oil, argan oil and rosemary oil. It may feel counterintuitive to wash your face with oil when your skin feels oily to begin with, but trust us. Not only do these oils provide wonderful moisture, they are also filled with vitamins and antioxidants to protect the skin from the outside, and even help keep pores clear by the principle of like-dissolves-like. For this reason, oils can be used to clean the skin.

This Shea Cleansing Oil will dissolve waterproof mascara and eyeliner in addition to the other cosmetics you use on your face, but it also won’t strip your skin of the natural oils that help to keep your skin balanced.

If you have hyper sensitive skin, this cleansing oil will definitely benefit you; free from harsh soaps or detergents, it is a great way to prevent unwanted irritation.

Typically, no moisturizer is needed after the oil cleansing, but if you still have dry skin, try using a tiny bit of homemade organic lotion to moisturize skin

Shea Cleaning Oil

Prep Time: 5 Minutes
Total time: 5 Minutes

Ingredients

Required
  • 48 g shea oil (Clean and Green Family)
  • 48 g argan oil (Clean and Green Family)
  • 4 g rosemary oil

Instructions

1. In the shower or at the bathroom sink, pour about a tbsp of the Shea Cleansing Oil into your hand and massage into the skin on your face (do not wet skin first). Massage until you are sure that the oil has saturated your skin. This will also remove make-up very effectively, so there is no need to remove make-up first.
2. Place a clean washcloth under (very) hot tap water (or shower water) until it is completely soaked and quickly wring it out. Open it and place over your face. This will create steam against the skin to remove the oils and any impurities in the skin.
3. Leave the wash cloth on until it cools. Repeat if needed with the other side of the washcloth and then use the corners of the washcloth to gently remove any remaining oil. There will still be a thin layer of oil on the skin and this is beneficial.
4. If you do this in the shower, make sure to clean your shower floor regularly so it doesn’t get slippery!

Ingredient Facts:

Shea Oil: The physical properties of shea oil allow it to easily absorb into the skin promoting skin elasticity. Shea Oil will not leave an oily or greasy residue typical of many oils. It is a great natural emollient and can be used to treat dry skin and hair. It contains a high level of vitamins A, E, F and oleic fatty acid. Shea oil can be used in the production of baby care products as well.

Argan Oil: Thanks to high levels of vitamin E and essential fatty acids (namely, oleic acid and linoleic acid) argan oil has extremely hydrating effects for dry skin. It promotes natural skin regeneration, hydration, and elasticity. Argan oil is suitable for acne-prone skin, as it soothes and reduces inflammation that comes along with acne breakouts, and it helps to control sebum production.

Rosemary Oil: Rosemary oil has a stimulating effect on skin. It improves/increases circulation, which help reduce puffiness in your skin, e.g. puffy eyes, and provides your skin with a radiant glow.

Tip

When you’re wearing a full face of makeup, it is a good move to use a cleansing oil first, even if you want to use a traditional cleanser after – the oil will be better able to remove and dissolve all the oils in the makeup.
